The Walmart Supercenter in Greencastle recently chose to sponsor EDGE 21 in support of its work with youth in Putnam County. As such, the store donated $1,000 toward the program through the Walmart Foundation.

EDGE 21 is a multi-generational program to enroll eligible 21st Century Scholars, complete readiness requirements and provide weekly mentoring through “huddles” in each Putnam County high school. The goal is to embolden these students into post-secondary education and successful careers and become servant leaders.

“The Walmart Foundation gives me the great honor of being able to choose the local organizations that this store donates to,” Walmart Store Manager Jeremy O’Leary said. “I chose EDGE 21 because I feel like we need to support our youth now for a better future.”

“This donation is greatly appreciated,” EDGE 21 Executive Director Beth Hamilton expressed. “All donations are put to good use enabling us to continue working with the 21st Century Scholars. I hope to partner with Walmart to recruit mentors in the very near future.”
