County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 1:30 a.m. Keely A. Taylor, 22, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for driving with a suspended license.

Wednesday

• At 10:19 p.m. Damon P. Tyson, 40, Roachdale, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and dealing in marijuana.

• At 4:58 p.m. Jennifer L. Bernard, 42, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

• At 3:30 p.m. Clyde D. Whitaker, 44, Greencastle, was booked in for invasion of privacy.

• At 12:52 p.m. Mariah G. Sutton, 25, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 11:37 a.m. Oliver LaChance, 20, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a warrant.

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Randy L. Arsnoe, 61, Greencastle, was eastbound on State Road 42 in a 2014 Toyota Prius.

Arsnoe told Deputy Todd Hopkins he was rounding a curve near County Road 1200 South when the back end of the Prius slid out and the vehicle ran off the road.

The car hit several posts, breaking one off.

Hopkins estimated damage at $5,000-$10,0000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 3:15 p.m. on Friday, GFD received a call for a possible illegal burn at 1156 Avenue D. Firefighters arrived at 3:20 and found the homeowner was in compliance with the Greencastle burn ordinance. GFD went back into service at 3:23 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed seven medical assists and had one disregard.
