Cold-shooting Clovers fall at North Central

Cloverdale's 7-0 start was subdued by a defensive switch from North Central, which held the visitors scoreless the rest of the first quarter and a 15-5 second quarter allowed the hosts to take a 20-12 lead into the break.

Cloverdale would hold North Central to 12 points in the second half but a frigid evening from the floor, going 3-of-27 inside the three-point line and 1-of-5 from the free throw line, kept the Clovers from closing the gap.

Kiersten Wade led Cloverdale with nine points on three three-point baskets, knocking down half of the Clovers’ threes for the game. Emily Mann scored six points while Chloe Sprinkle and Veronica Carter scored five points each.

Jalyn Davidson and Paloma Carter scored 10 points each for North Central while Katie Jones added eight points and Samantha Secrest chipped in four points.
