Linda Sue Sweet

Linda Sue Sweet, 67, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.

Linda was born in Crawfordsville on Nov. 25, 1954, the daughter of Ray Eugene and Mary Katherine (Blaydes) Quinnette.

She was a 1973 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Sweet worked for Gould’s Market, Techno Trim and Old National Trail as an administrative assistant for many years until her retirement. Linda was winner of the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award and traveled to 49 states, Mexico and Canada.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Carl L. Sweet; a daughter, Melissa Smalley (Wes) of Murray, Kentucky; a brother, Mike Quinnette (Becky) of New Vienna, Ohio; two sisters, Ann Zimmerman of McKenzie, Tenn., and Sandra Foster of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Wesley Smalley and Ashley Smalley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Zackery Smalley.

Services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Blaydes officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
