Cloverdale knocks off Cascade behind Thomas' 42 points

Friday, January 14, 2022

CLOVERDALE – The Cloverdale Clover boys’ basketball team was coming off of a long layoff Friday having not played a game since Dec. 29. The Clovers were not rusty as they shot over 50 percent from the field and got 42 points from senior Kyle Thomas as they were able to defeat the Cascade Cadets 65-55 on Al Tucker Court in Cloverdale. The senior marksman shot an efficient 15-of-26 from the field and 9-of-10 from the line as, even with the Cadets game-planning to stop him, he was nearly unstoppable. He opened the game with 16 points in the first quarter and closed the game with 14 in the final period. The Clovers hit a solid 26-of-50 shots and turned the ball over just 12 times as the offense was able to solve the Cadet defense time and time again.
