Bonnie Jean Spurr, 99, of Greencastle, passed away on Jan. 14, 2022 at Asbury Towers.

She was the longest living of any relative in either side of the families and the last survivor of the Greatest Generation.

Bonnie was born in Sugar Creek on Aug. 2, 1922, the daughter of Claude L. and Pearl (Williams) Lewis.

Bonnie was an avid gardener in the summer months and enjoyed quilting in the winter.

Survivors include her son David K. Spurr and his wife Sally Hunt Spurr of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; a granddaughter, Polly Haysman, and a great-great-granddaughter Lexi Haysman, both of whom reside in Happy Valley, South Australia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 58 years, Keith Spurr; daughter Sharon Kay Spurr; a brother; and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Clinton Falls Cemetery with Pastor Mark Strahm officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home prior to services at Clinton Falls Cemetery.
