BAINBRIDGE — A Kentucky woman was sustained head injuries in an off-road vehicle crash early Sunday morning in western Floyd Township.

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a crash in a field on County Road 675 North at 12:40 a.m.

Deputies Todd Hopkins, Rob Soilleux and Josh Deal found that Autumn Ladue-Richter, 36, Bainbridge, had been driving a 2018 Canam side-by-side ORV around the property with Alyssa Kline, 32, Lexington, Ky., as her passenger.

Ladue-Richter told deputies that while riding on the ORV, she had made a sharp turn that caused the vehicle to tip over onto its passenger side.

Kline received severe head trauma in the accident and was transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Ladue-Richter told deputies she was not wearing her seatbelt and did not know if Kline was.

Additionally, Nathaniel Richter, owner of the ORV, told deputies the vehicle was paid off and did not have insurance.

Hopkins noted in his police report there were clear yaw marks in the field leading to the vehicle, indicating a high rate of speed while turning.
