County Jail

Twelve people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 3:33 a.m. Jessica D. James, 39, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphatamine, possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction and on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 3:30 a.m. Devin D. Lonberger, 30, Terre Haute, was taken into custody for possession of methamphatamine, possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction and on warrants from Parke and Vigo counties.

Sunday

• At 12:55 a.m. Nicholas R. Szalay, 27, Poland, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction and driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 12:49 a.m. Clyde D. Whitaker, 44, Greencastle, was booked in for invasion of privacy.

Saturday

• At 6:08 p.m. John D. Brickert Jr., 32, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for failure to appear and resisting law enforcement.

• At 1:48 p.m. Justion N. Taylor, 22, Greencastle, was taken into custody for carrying a handgun without a license.

• At 12:20 a.m. Jennifer L. Bernard, 42, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail Marion County warrant.

Friday

• At 9:43 p.m. Daniel R. Foster, 50, Cloverdale, was booked in for theft.

• At 6:23 p.m. Johnny R. Corder, 29, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for criminal mischief.

• At 3:04 a.m. Kelly L. Mayes, 50, Greencastle, was taken into custody for criminal mischief.

Thursday

• At 10:17 p.m. Timothy D. Robinson, 68, Fillmore, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

• At 9:38 p.m. Ronald W. Cottrill II, 37, Carbon, was booked in on a warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to several recent dispatches:

• At 8:27 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on east County Road 25 North. Arriving at 8:33 p.m., crews found a vehicle in the ditch and helped with patient care. They were back in service at 8:43 p.m.

• At 12:52 a.m. on Friday, firefighters were called to a single-vehicle crash on East State Road 240. Arriving at 12:52 a.m., they found the vehicle on its side with the patient out. Crews helped care until the patient was transported to the Putnam County Airport to be transported by helicopter. Crews were released from the scene at 2:17 a.m.

• At 11:46 a.m. on Friday, GFD was called to a fire alarm at 487 Ridgeland Road. Arriving at 11:53, they found the resident had been cooking and accidentally activated the detector. It was reset with the alarm company, and crews cleared the scene at 12:02 p.m.

• At 4:19 p.m. Saturday, crews were dispatched to an alarm at 1 E. Olive Street. They arrived at 4:23 to find a water flow alarm but no water flow. The alrm was reset and GFD was back in service at 4:38 p.m.

• At 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at 940 Indianapolis Road. The driver was not injured and crews cleared the scene at 5:16 p.m.

• At 8:36 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was called to an alarm at IAC, 750 S. Fillmore Rd. They arrived at 8:41 p.m., with no smoke or fire showing. Firefighters found a water flow alarm in the tooling room, but no problem. The alarm was reset and GFD departed the scene at 9:08 p.m.

• At 2:19 p.m. on Monday, crews were dispatched to an alarm at 801 S. Locust St. Arriving at 2:23, they were unable to determin a cause, so they cleaned the detector and reset, leaving the scene at 2:36 p.m.

Firefighters also responded to eight medical runs as well as being disregarded en route to three other dispatches.
