Charles E. Gaffney

Charles E. Gaffney, 86, Brownsburg, passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.

He was born Jan. 7, 1936 in Hoopeston, Ill.

He was a US Army and Marine veteran. A truck driver for Commercial Lovelace, Underwood and Marathon Electric, he retired in 1999 after 38 years of service. He also worked as a greeter at Walmart after retirement.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.

His parents, Earl and Edna Gaffney, brother Don Gaffney and grandson Brian Gaffney preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years; children Douglas Earl (Mary) Gaffney, Mark Alan (Patty) Gaffney, Rodney Lee (Tammy) Gaffney, Renae Lynn (Chris) Clark and James Brian (Lorie) Gaffney; brother Joe (Terri) Gaffney; sister Marilyn (Sam) Coon; sister-in-law Mary Ann Gaffney; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be from 10-11am Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 701 E. Tilden, Brownsburg, with memorial services there at 11 a.m.
