SECTIONAL UPDATES: Weather postponements alter sectional, regional events

The midweek snow and its aftereffects have postponed several athletic contests that were to have been held this week and will now be held in the next few days.

Girls’ Basketball

The Danville Sectional has been pushed back a day in the schedule, meaning Greencastle will face Tri-West Saturday evening at 6 p.m. The sectional final is now next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Southmont Sectional has been pushed back a day in the schedule, meaning North Putnam will face Riverton Parke Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The sectional final is now next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Girls’ Swimming

The Terre Haute South Swimming Sectional will now see prelims take place Saturday at 1 p.m. The diving competition remains at 9 a.m. The sectional final is now Monday beginning at 6 p.m.

Wrestling

The Mooresville Regional will now begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with doors opening to spectators at 10:30 a.m. Weigh-ins will also be at 10:30 a.m. with a two-pound allowance given for all wrestlers.

DePauw Athletics

In addition, DePauw will be running its Tim Herha Memorial Invitational track meet Saturday starting at 1 p.m. while the Tiger men’s and women’s basketball games will be played Saturday and Sunday against Hiram and Alleghany with the women beginning at 1 p.m. each day and the men to follow at approximately 3 p.m.
