Rod Lasley

ROD LASLEY was recently promoted to chief operating officer of the Indiana Bankers Association.

In this position he serves as IBA chief financial officer, plus is responsible for oversight of all of the Association’s business practices, member engagement and corporate communications. Lasley also serves as president of two for-profit companies owned by the IBA.

He joined the Association in 2009 as member services representative, and he was promoted to vice president-products and services in 2012 and to executive vice president-products & services in 2020.

His accomplishments include negotiating IBA’s work with the academic community to establish banking minors at Purdue University Northwest and Ball State University. Additionally, he oversaw the launch of the IBA BankLEAD internship program and the creation of the IBA Leaders in Banking Excellence awards.

Prior to joining the Association, Lasley worked in banking for 18 years, the last three years as president and CEO of IBA-member North Salem State Bank. In that capacity, he served on the IBA Board of Directors and was president of the IBA Future Leadership Division. Within the community, Lasley serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation, is chairman of the Hendricks County Board of Zoning Appeals and is an IHSAA soccer official.

In December, he was named 2021 Association Professional of the Year by the Indiana Society of Association Executives.

Lasley earned a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and has completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.


ELIZABETH HOFMANN of Cloverdale was among students from Miami University who received degrees during the fall commencement on Dec. 10, 2021

Hofmann graduated with a Master of Arts degree, majoring in biology.


GRACE ELMORE, a 2021 graduate of North Putnam High School, was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Cornell University.


MADELINE GRAHAM, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2022, earned the spring 2021 Dean’s Award with Distinction.

Graham is a arts and humanities major from Greencastle and is a graduate of Middlesex School.

Students who received a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2021 semester earn the Dean’s Award with Distinction.


The University of Evansville recently recognized students who received dean’s list honors for the fall 2021 semester.

Among these was CORINNE BUCHANAN of Bainbridge, who is studying public health

To merit this honor, a student must have carried a full academic load of 12 hours or more and have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or above.


A senior studying social work, ASHLEE BYRER of Greencastle was named to the 2021 fall dean’s list at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky.

Students were named to the dean’s list for completing at least 12 credit hours with a 3.5 GPA or higher.


BRAEDON PAYNE of Cloverdale was named to the fall 2021 dean’s list at Olivet University in Bourbonnaise, Ill.

To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale.


A pair of local students were named to the fall 2021 president’s list from Southern New Hampshire University.

JESSICA STAWARZ of Roachdale and SAMANTHA HYDE of Greencastle were both honored, having earned at least a 3.7 GPA while earning 12 credits during the semester.


Brenda O'Brien

BRENDA O’BRIEN is a new member of Kappa Delta Phi.

She joins other members of Kappa Delta Phi, a community service organization, as they direct their philanthropic efforts to promote and support the children of Putnam County.

Chapter members honored O’Brien at a celebratory luncheon at the Fairway restaurant after her recent initiation.
