Living up to its Name

Courtesy Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Literally putting the creek in Creek Road, the waters of Big Walnut Creek swell into the Madison Township road Monday following heavy overnight rains. While flooding in the low-lying area is nothing new, the propensity for high waters to close both Creek Road and County Road 375 West south of Oakala Covered Bridge could cause trouble later this year. The replacement of Bridge 276, which carries Saddle Club Road over CSX railroad, will begin later this month. Should any flooding take place while the bridge is out, it could leave residences between the two bridges, as well as Three Fat Labs Wedding and Event Center, stranded.
