Helen Decker

Helen Decker, 83, Greencastle, passed away on March 1, 2022, to be with the Lord.

A celebration of life was held with family and friends on March 5.

Helen was born Sept. 26, 1938 in Indianapolis.

She worked at Old National Bank and HBG Insurance and Bonds before retiring. She and her husband, Ken Decker, lived at Thomas Lake, Greencastle, for 40 years.

Helen loved nature and the simple things in life like flowers and wildlife.

For the last two years, Helen lived with her daughter, and Ken resided at Mill Pond Health Campus due to declining health.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Freda Young, brother Jack, stepdaughter Kim Decker and granddaughter Kelsy Boyers Hott.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ken Decker; sister Gayle Sabo; daughter Jennifer Noll and husband Kerry; son Lon Boyers and wife Linda; Stepson Dean Decker and wife Teresa; and stepdaughter Shannon Decker. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Brandy Ames, Brittany Cooper, Bradford Boyers, Amanda Hanson, Rick Decker, Megan Storms and Kara Decker. Helen was also loved by her nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Helen did not want a big funeral. She chose cremation and her ashes will be buried at Croy’s Creek Church beside her parents. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane society, as Helen loved cats.
