County Jail

Twelve people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 7:10 p.m. Blake T. Ross, 27, Brazil, was lodged at the jail for invasion of privacy.

• At 4:11 p.m. Michael T. Stansel, 59, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on a Marion County warrant.

Friday

• At 5:45 p.m. Timothy J. Buckallew, 31, Martinsville, was housed at the jail for driving with an ACE of .15 or more.

• At 4:55 p.m. Mika L. Hayes, 26, Brazil, was booked in for burglary, theft, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of marijuana.

• At 12:57 p.m. Robert A. Jones, 43, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 12:06 p.m. Melissa A. Miller, 44, Reelsville, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

Thursday

• At 9:50 p.m. Taylinn M. Ross-Long, 18, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

• At 6:47 p.m. Brice C. Steinbaker, 30, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrant.

• At 5:19 p.m. Joshua D. Ellington, 23, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 3:48 p.m. Natasha R. Barker, 32, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a warrant.

• At 3:35 p.m. Nicholas L. Bennett, 31, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of syringe, resisting law enforcement and on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 1:42 p.m. Lynden J. Briones, 18, Greencastle, was booked in for carrying a handgun without a license, dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 10:41 a.m. Sunday, two people were arrested by Officer Zach Rhine on the parking area of Roan Court in the Round Barn Manor complex.

Kalyn Jordan, 30, Greencastle, and Brandie Williams, 44, Greencastle, were taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Jail on the same two charges, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 3:35 p.m. Friday, Sharon Johnson, 65, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Taken into custody at a Paddock Court residence, Johnson was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a Putnam County warrant for failure to appear in court on an original charge of driving with a suspended license.

One recent summons was issued by city officers:

• At 10:13 p.m. Saturday, Logan Jones, 19, Greencastle, was issued a summons by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped at Washington and Wood streets, Jones was given a summons into court on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents recently:

• At 9:29 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to a chimney fire at 5605 S. CR 250. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 9:40 and assisted the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department with extinguishment and checking for extensions. GFD went back into service at 11:57 a.m.

• At 2:48 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:54 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:04 p.m.

• At 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to a mobile home fire at 955 W. State Road 42. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10:29 and assisted the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department with extinguishment and overhaul. GFD went back into service at 11:58 p.m.

• At 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Pi Beta Phi on the DePauw University campus for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:34 and could not locate the activated detector. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:48 p.m.

• At 11:21 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Hall on the DePauw University campus for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:25 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:34 p.m.

• At 12:51 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Kappa Psi on the DePauw University campus for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:55 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:04 a.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed four medical assists and had one disregard.
