Virginia C. Day

Virginia C. Day, 87, of New Albany, formerly of Greencastle, passed ednesday, March 16, 2022 at her residence.

Born Dec. 10, 1934 in Reelsville, she was the daughter of Webster and Wanda (Walker) Smith.

Virginia worked as a caregiver and minister to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children, Paul Hayes (Tetyana Hayes), Daniel Hayes and Donna Dearwester (Rick Dearwester); grandchildren Joe Payton, Christopher Williamson, Tonya Parr, Jamie Smith, Daniel Baugh, Orin Hayes, Timothy Hayes, William Hayes and Irene Hayes; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held for Virginia at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy Julian Dr., Greencastle.
