DePauw plans street closures for work next week

Monday, March 21, 2022

DePauw University is planning temporary road closures at the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media Building (corner of South Locust Street and East Olive Street) and the library project (South Indiana Street between West Hill Street and West Larabee Street) over DePauw spring break next week (March 26-April 3).

The university is using spring break to reduce impact on the surrounding area while performing utility tie-ins in the street.

The university is not closing down any of Lincoln Avenue or Park Street, so access to those homes remains the same as it is now. The South Indiana Street closing only takes place directly in front of the DePauw Roy O West Library (North of Larabee Street).

DePauw will protect traffic with road barricades. The detour signs just show the immediate path around the small portion of the road that is closed. Upon completion of this work, the streets will reopen for normal use.

The City Council will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday to consider the planned temporary street closures.
