DePauw ranks in nation’s top 100 higher ed institutions

DePauw University has been ranked among the 100 best higher education institutions in the country by College Consensus.

In a list topped by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford, Princeton, Yale and Harvard universities, DePauw placed 99th. The list was released earlier this week.

College Consensus combines schools’ average rating score from Forbes, Money, U.S. News & World Report, Washington Monthly and Wallethub with the average ratings from student reviews posted on what it called “reputable student review sites” – Cappex, Grad Reports, My Plan, Niche and Unigo.

The result, College Consensus says, is “a unique college meta-ranking. This approach offers a comprehensive and holistic perspective missing from other college rankings.”

College Consensus reports that “regardless of size, location, form or classification, these are the colleges and universities that have the best publisher and student ratings. It’s not mixing apples and oranges – it’s crunching the numbers, pure and simple, to see which colleges the experts admire, and which ones the students love.”

The organization also ranks DePauw as No. 27 among best national liberal arts colleges and No. 29 among best small colleges.
