April 4 deadline to register as primary voter

If the political signs sprouting up much sooner than flowers this spring weren’t an indication, the Tuesday, May 3 primary election is quickly approaching.

As such, voters are reminded that Monday, April 4 is the final day to register to vote in the upcoming primary.

Residents wishing to call for a Republican or a Democrat ballot in the primary have until 4 p.m. to register in person at the Putnam County Voter Registration Office on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse or until midnight to submit their registration application online.

Early voting then begins on April 5.

While there are a number of local, contested Republican races on the ballot, there are currently no Democrat candidates for local office.
