Deputy Josh Clark estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 11:44 a.m. on Friday, Loren Eggert, 38, Poland, was northbound on U.S. 231 in southern Putnam County in a 2020 Nissan Titan. A driver in front of Eggert had stopped to make a left turn into his driveway and Eggert had almost completely stopped.

At that point, Aaron Tolloty, 39, Spencer, approached from the south in a 2019 Kia Optima. Having just rounded a corner, Tolloty told Deputy Tanner Brown he saw the vehicles ahead of him and applied his brakes, but the vehicle was not going to stop in time to avoid rear-ending Eggert’s pickup.

At that point, both Tolloty and Eggert took evasive action, with Tolloty steering left and Eggert steering right. However, Tolloty still rear-ended Eggert’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, Zachary Moore, 26, Odon, was passing southbound in a 2021 Ford F-450 pulling a trailer. After Tolloty’s car hit Eggert’s truck, it also struck Moore’s trailer.

Tolloty’s car had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Brown estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 5:43 a.m. on Thursday, Keely A. Taylor, 22, Cloverdale, was traveling on County Road 350 South in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado approaching a curve.

Taylor told Deputy Todd Hopkins that her brake pedal went all the way to the floorboard and her steering wheel cut sharply to the left. The vehicle left the road and collided with an embankment.

Taylor told the deputy she was pregnant and had abdominal pain. However, she refused to be transported to the hospital by EMS, instead having her father-in-law take her.

Hopkins estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 3:48 p.m. on Wednesday, Coy A. Dickey, 52, Fillmore, was southbound on County Road 525 East about a quarter mile north of County Road 300 North in a 2006 International garbage truck registered to Jack’s Trash.

Dickey told Deputy Chief Deputy Matt Demmings that the truck got too close to the edge of the road, which was a downhill curve, and the weight of the truck shifted. As he did so, the weight shifted further, and the truck left the roadway and rolled onto its right side.

Neither Dickey nor his passenger, 17-year-old Levi A. Gibson, Greencastle, was restrained. Both reported soreness but declined medical treatment.

The truck was retrieved by Curtis Wrecker Service. Also on the scene assisting were Putnam County EMS, Floyd Township Fire Department and deputies Riley Houghton and Kyle Lee.

Demmings estimated damage at $25,000-$50,000.

The wheel barrow struck the front bumper of 2008 Mazda CX9 also being driven eastbound on Katelynn E. Gehring, 32, Cloverdale.
