Greg Williams

As a lifelong Putnam County resident, I am proud to be a citizen of Putnam County., growing up in Belle Union and graduating in 1980 from South Putnam High School.

My parents, Fred and Wanda Williams, taught me how to work hard and be persistent to achieve many goals in life. After graduation, I attended Indiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management and an Associate of Science degree in architectural technology in 1984. After college I worked for Alan Stanley and Associates in Greencastle and then for MSE Engineering in Indianapolis, a pioneering firm in the geographic informational (GIS) field.

After gaining hands-on experience in both the surveying and GIS fields, I earned an Associate of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1993. In 2001, I obtained my Professional Surveyor license and in 2006, acquired ASA Land Surveying. I am currently the president and co-owner of ASA Land Surveying. I take great pride in being a Putnam County business owner that serves much of West Central Indiana.

Married 29 years, Debbie and I live in Cloverdale where we raised four children: Jacob, Miranda, Hannah and Anne Marie. Our children were involved in school band, sports, scouts, 4-H, theater and winter guard. Throughout the years we volunteered many hours supporting these activities and the participants. Even today I am still involved with Boy Scout Leadership and other community groups serving the county and its residents. Below are several of the boards and advisory committees I currently serve on.

• Assistant scoutmaster, Cloverdale Troop 93, Boy Scouts of America, completing my Wood Badge Training in 2003.

• Wabash Valley Eagle Scout Board of Review committee member

• Camp Friend Board member, treasurer

• Putnam County Park Board member

• Knights of Columbus member

• Cloverdale Building Corporation board member

Putnam County Antique Tractor & Machinery Association Member

Some of my fondest memories involve serving on these committees and working with the youth of Putnam County. Whether serving as merit badge counselor for Boy Scouts or trekking on many wilderness scouting adventures throughout the United States, I have always enjoyed spending time with people of all ages.

Over the past 30 years, I have been surveying and mapping much of West Central Indiana.

Having easy access to reliable and accurate county section corners is a necessity for defining accurate property lines in Putnam County. My goal as a county surveyor is to create an online Corner Stone Database for Putnam County where professionals and citizens have access to verified section corner information.

Also, as county surveyor I would be an active and contributing member of Putnam County Storm Water Drainage Board.

I would appreciate the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to continue serving Putnam County as your County Surveyor.

Please vote for me on the Republican ticket in Putnam County’s primary election on May 3.
