BLOOMINGTON -- Injection-molded closures manufacturer Phoenix has introduced a new plant with warehouse space in Indiana.

The newly renovated complex in Bloomington is a former Otis Elevator facility. The site measures 450,000 square feet and is expected to create more than 125 jobs over the next four years.

The process of creating the plant spanned 18 months in which Phoenix collaborated with CSO Architects and The Austin Co. The result is an SQF-certified and energy-efficient facility strategically located near heavy power infrastructure, interstate highways, rail access and customers.

Phoenix used knowledge and talent from its plant in Greencastle, to fill multiple positions. The plant manager of the Bloomington facility, Bill Benton, said Greencastle employees have transitioned into leadership roles at the new site to train new employees.

The addition of the new location will bolster Phoenix’s capabilities at sites in Iowa, Tennessee, Illinois and Indiana. The expanded production will focus on the company’s essential products in order to meet customer demand.

Phoenix is a full-service packaging manufacturing company for the food and beverage, consumer healthcare, home and personal care and chemical industries. The company offers services including stock and custom continuous thread, closure and package design, dispensing and child-resistant closures.
