Julian Jarvis

Julian Jarvis, 86, of Greencastle passed away late Monday evening, April 11, 2022, at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Julian was born in Greencastle on July 12, 1935, the son of Verlin and Dona Elizabeth (Burnside) Jarvis.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from DePauw University.

Mr. Jarvis worked for Central Bank of Greencastle for 28 years and was the owner and operator of Julian Jarvis Rare Coins in Greencastle for many years. He was a member of Greencastle Church of the Nazarene, was on the board of Olivet Nazarene University, and was a charter member of Putnam County and Wabash Valley Coin Clubs.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Jarvis; six step-children, Mike Faber (Deb), Joan Short (Jeff), Kathy Boskamp, Ruth Reidenga (Mark), Norman Faber Jr. (Robin), and James Faber (Shaun); 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Betty Jarvis.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 18 at Greencastle Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bob Muncie and Dr. John Mongerson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the church.
