Dodgeball is back.

After a hiatus from the pandemic, Mental Health America of Putnam County has announced the return of its “Don’t Dodge the Issues” dodgeball event.

With spectators free, a silent auction, concessions and a mental health fair, this public gathering is designed to entertain and inform the whole family.

Kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month, which starts the next day, doors open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, with the dodgeball tournament beginning at 1 p.m. at Deer Meadow Primary School, 1000 Deerfield Dr., Greencastle.

Information tables from mental health providers and materials to help anyone’s mental health will be available.

Several teams have already committed, but those interested are encouraged to sign up their teams or join in to watch the fun and support a great cause. All proceeds stay within Putnam County and benefit efforts in promoting community-wide mental health and MHAoPC programs.

  • If we could apply this to political debates, I might find them more entertaining.
