Lonnie James Lawhorn

Lonnie James Lawhorn, 58, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Lonnie was born in Clinton on July 5, 1963 to the late Lonzie Lawhorn and Virginia (Ginny) Lou Bray.

Lonnie served in the U.S. Navy for seven years as a petty officer second class. He then became a beloved substitute teacher and football coach for both North Putnam and Greencastle schools.

Lonnie is survived by his children, John (Krystyna) Lawhorn, Sarah (Carey) Northcutt and Joseph (Aleesha) Lawhorn; granddaughter Victoria Lawhorn; and brothers David Lawhorn and Kevin (Jerry Thomas) Lawhorn.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held on Monday, May 2 at Roachdale Christian Church on 1 N. Walnut St. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Celebration of life will begin at 6 p.m.
