Playhouse sets May 1-2 auditions for ‘Clue’

The 1985 film “Clue” has been adapted into a stage mystery comedy. It will the second production of the 61st season of Putnam County Playhouse.

The production of “Clue” will be onstage July 7-9 and July 13-16.

Director Shelly McFadden has planned two sessions of auditions for roles in the show. The first will be Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. The second will be Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m. Both sessions will be in the Michael McClaine Rehearsal Center at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre.

The show is being sponsored by Hopkins-Rector and Bittles & Hirt funeral homes.

McFadden and her assistant director Vickie Parker will be looking for actors to play Wadsworth, a proper English Butler and the usual Clue game suspects: Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Colonel Mustard, Mr. Green, and Mrs. Peacock.

The PCPH season opens on May 29 with a 3 p.m. open house. The fun begins June 2 with the opening of the musical “Oliver.”
