Musicians plan ‘An evening of songs for Ukraine’ May 11

In an attempt to bring local assistance to an international problem, local musicians and businesses will come together for a benefit concert and taco bar on Wednesday, May 11.

“An evening of songs for Ukraine” is set for 6-8:30 p.m. at Almost Home Restaurant and Bar, featuring Bobbie Lancaster, Derek Chastain, Parker Black and Matt and Wednesday Rees.

Tickets are $25 each with all admission proceeds benefiting Ukrainian refugees via the United Way of Central Indiana. Each ticket purchase will include access to the concert and a taco bar. The bar will also be open for additional drink purchases.

The evening will feature addiitional raffles and a donation stand.

Event sponsors include Almost Home, Creative Castle, Trades of Hope and United Way of Central Indiana.

The United for Ukraine Fund will address both the immediate needs like transportation, accommodation, food, medicine, childcare supplies like infant formula and diapers and hygiene kits, as well as longer-term needs of those fleeing the conflict.

United Way partners are vetted, nonpartisan organizations that are on the ground and providing vital help and hope to those who need it most. Current partners include United Way Romania, United Way Hungary and Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw (Good Initiatives Foundation) in Poland.
