First Friday to return this week

The long-awaited return of the Greencastle First Friday program is scheduled for Friday, May 6 at the traditional Putnam County Courthouse Square and South Indiana Street locations.

Official times for First Friday are 6-11 p.m. First Friday events are scheduled monthly through October.

Music starts as early as 5 p.m. outside of Hashtag Harmony on the north side of the square with Austin James playing. Around 7 p.m. Almost Home will host the Big Fun Band on the Courthouse Stage, while Moore’s Bar will host Hometown Haven on South Indiana Street.

Prime Real Estate is the sponsor for the month, and will have a 30-foot inflatable slide by its office on Franklin Street, along with face-painting and free give-away items.

Meanwhile, another East Franklin Street neighbor, CastleMakers, will have a foam box car drag race set-up outside of its building.

Other First Friday features this month will include two barbecue trucks, Kona Ice, two race cars and 10 craft vendors, along with boutique shopping and non-profits promoting their organizations.
