Frances Ruth Nichols

Frances Ruth Nichols, 103, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.

Born June 2, 1918 in Jefferson City, Tenn., she was the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Livingston) DeBorde. Frances was a 1935 graduate of Fillmore High School.

Frances had worked as a welder with the Stewart-Warner Company for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil O. Nichols; and siblings Blanche DeBorde, Ralph DeBorde, Ray DeBorde and Eda Burns.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Carol Childs and husband Mead and Rita Nichols and husband Fred Wilbur; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 15 at the funeral home.
