Brighton Wilder Birt

Brighton Wilder Birt was born on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 8:39 a.m. to proud parents Kyle and Jill Birt at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He weighed 4 pounds, 1 ounce and was 15 ½ inches long.

Brighton was brave and strong enough to let his parents know he loved them before peacefully being carried into Heaven in the arms of Jesus.

At 12 weeks, Brighton was given a life-limiting diagnosis. His parents chose to make the most of whatever time he had and to celebrate each day with their son. During Brighton’s nine months with his mom, dad and brother, he went on many adventures. He visited five states, traveled by car, airplane and boat, climbed mountains in Tennessee and hiked trails all over Indiana, visited the beach in Florida and went swimming, ran many miles with his mom while pushing his big brother in the stroller, went camping, and tasted a lot of ice cream. His time with his family was joy filled and deliberate.

Brighton is survived by his loving parents, Kyle and Jill (Floyd) Birt (Indianapolis); brother Lassen Birt (Indianapolis); paternal grandparents Jerry and Karen Birt (Greencastle); maternal grandparents Tom and Sheri Floyd (Bloomington, Ill.); aunts and uncles Luke and Kacie Chase, Chris and Kayla Flegal, Zack and Jenna Brewer, and Jordan and Kara Brinkman; cousins Sterling, Dia, Nelson, Tarik, Bennett, Rhea and Clark, and many other family and friends.

He was loved deeply and will be forever missed.

A private celebration of life will be held with his family later this year.
