Eileen LaFawn Yater

Eileen LaFawn Yater, 90, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

She was born Jan. 17, 1932 in Pence, Ind., the daughter of Jacob and Effie (Fisher) Fox.

She was a graduate of Marshall High School.

Eileen worked several years as an office assistant with Jedele Enterprises. She had previously worked at Harmless Laundries and P.R. Mallory’s.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald P. Yater, daughter Charlene E. Cox and brothers Glen Fox and Dwayne Mehaffey.

Eileen is survived by her daughters, Donna Byrd and husband Adam and Chris Clark and husband Steve; son Gerald P. Yater Jr. and wife Libby; grandchildren Nicole Byrd and husband Tyler Piersall, Laurie Walker, Derek Yater and wife Stephanie, Danny Yater and wife Mallory, Kevin Clark and wife Kathryn and Danielle Koester and husband Robert; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26 at the Putnamville Cemetery. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
