Heather Nicole Kendall

Monday, May 30, 2022

Heather Nicole Kendall was born Jan. 16, 1984. She is the daughter of Howard E. Kendall and Vickie Harris Kendall. Heather passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 26, 2022 due to a motor vehicle accident.

She was a 2002 graduate of Greencastle High School and, more recently, a letter carrier for the USPS in Crawfordsville. Heather loved to hunt fossils, take nature hikes in the woods, camp and wade the creek on her family’s farm. Bicycling, photography, reading and writing were other favorite pastimes, along with crafting and playing games with her family and friends. So gentle and kind, she loved nature, and saved, nurtured and cared for sick and injured animals frequently.

Heather witnessed and detailed the world around her, even in the smallest of things, through breathtaking photographs. Through these images, she documented life with reflections of gratitude. Her unbounding love for others will always be treasured. She was a beautiful person, so unique and so worthy of love.

Heather was a quiet but radiating light in a crowded room whose sharp wit, infectious laugh and humor could touch and infect every person present. Her heart was open to the suffering of others and she always gave more than she had, but never expected to receive back. She leaves behind the broken hearts of her family and dearest close friends.

She leaves behind her best friend, her father, Howard (Brenda) Kendall; mother Vickie (Steve) Smith; great-aunt Blanche Newman of Kansas; sisters Erica Kendall (Mark) and Kristina Cline (Billy) of Terre Haute; nephews Ira and Reuben and nieces Willa and Emily; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins and her post office family from Crawfordsville.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
