Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Stephen M. Coleman, 51, Greencastle, had been pulled over to the shoulder in a 2016 Kenworth T-880 pulling a trailer and was attempting to re-enter the travel lanes of eastbound U.S. 40 near the intersection of County Road 25 East.

Dana R. Lorenze, 51, Brazil, was eastbound approaching Coleman’s tractor-trailer in a 2008 Ford Focus.

After speaking with both drivers, Deputy Kyle Lee determined that as Coleman was continuing to come up to speed, Lorenze took an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision but lost control, entering the median then spinning around and hitting the tire of the trailer and exiting the roadway.

Lorenze was evaluated by Putnam County EMS. Her car was towed.

Lee estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
