The best part of my job as executive director at the Putnam County Community Foundation is getting to see the impact that our work has in our community. I value work which has a purpose – a mission – and I couldn’t be happier to have found that right here in Putnam County.

With assets totaling more than $43 million, the Putnam County Community Foundation has a responsibility to steward those funds in a way that enriches the quality of life and strengthens community for all our Putnam County neighbors.

Since our inception in 1985, the Putnam County Community Foundation has awarded more than $19 million in grants and scholarships including the awards of 41 Lilly Scholars.

In 2021, we opened 15 new charitable funds, and we provided grants to more than 40 local organizations and philanthropic causes including our largest ever single grant to the Greencastle/Putnam County YMCA.

Throughout the pandemic, the Community Foundation disbursed more than $75,000 in relief funds to support the immediate and urgent needs of our community.

This month, I invite you to join me at the Community Foundation’s annual business meeting and luncheon on Tuesday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at Tiger Pointe Country Club in Greencastle. There, you will learn more about the amazing things that your philanthropic neighbors accomplished through the Community Foundation in 2021.

The event is free and open to the public by RSVP. If you’d like to join us, please visit our website at pcfoundation.org to RSVP and find more information about the event. While you’re there, you can also sign up to receive our newsletter to stay up to date on our impact throughout the year.

I am so grateful to live and work in a community like ours, where people care for one another and philanthropy thrives.

Thank you for making our work possible and for making Putnam County a great place to be.
