United Way volunteers needed June 24

Monday, June 13, 2022

United Way of Central Indiana is looking for volunteers for Go All IN Day, an organized day of volunteering and community service across the region.

On June 24, hundreds of volunteers will complete projects for nonprofits, grassroots organizations and community groups throughout Central Indiana.

Here in Putnam County, help is still needed for three projects:

• Volunteers will install Putnam County’s first Born Learning Trail at Big Walnut Sports Park in Greencastle. Developed by United Way, the trail features 10 signs meant to encourage early childhood learning. Volunteers are also needed to weed, plant and mulch the park’s flower beds. The project is sponsored by the City of Greencastle and Jedele Enterprises.

• Volunteers will prepare walls for murals that will be part of the upcoming Putnam County Mural Festival. People are needed to scrape, power-wash and paint base coats on walls in Roachdale and Fillmore.

• Volunteers will refresh the Putnam County Library by washing walls, wiping down surfaces, dusting and tidying shelves.

Those interested in volunteering can learn more and sign up by visiting goallinday.com.

United Way hosted its first Go All IN Day last year. More than 500 volunteers completed more than 70 projects in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan and Putnam counties.
