Janet Kay (Duncan) Smith

Janet Kay (Duncan) Smith, 73, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on July 27, 1948, in Crawfordsville to the late Richard and Mildred (Davies) Duncan.

Janet graduated from Roachdale High School with the class of 1966. She was a member of and baptized at Russellville Christian Church.

Kay worked for IMC Fertilizer and then for the United States Postal Service for many years until retiring. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening and the outdoors, but she was most known for her homemade noodles. She will be missed by many in the community.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Eric Smith (Greg Schmidt); her grand dog, Axle; grand turtle, Speedy; her siblings, Bonnie (Norris) Harbison, Joyce Gossel, Suzie Reynolds, Fay (George) Templeman, Carl (Linda) Duncan, Betty Schedel and Sherry (Jeff) Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Duncan, and sister Lois Preston.

There will be a graveside service for Kay at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21 at Hebron Cemetery. Darrell Wiatt will officiate.
