Lynn May (Elliott) Brown

Lynn May (Elliott) Brown, 72, of Greencastle, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at home from a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lynn was born Dec. 28, 1949 in Terre Haute to Byron Elliott and Garnett (Hayes) Porter, both deceased. She was married for 51 years to Robert (Bob) “Peachie” Brown, and he survives. Survivors also include their daughter, Bobbie (Tod) Eubanks; grandchildren Cierra (CheyAnne Bell) Brown, Blade Brown, Lindsey Brown and Carter Eubanks; brother Larry (Jeannie) Elliott; twin brother Glen (Janet) Elliott; and sister Barbara Hopkins.

Besides her parents she follows her son Robert “Rob” Brown, sister Phyllis Stanton and niece Georgie Malicoat in death.

She retired after 34 years as a school bus driver for South Putnam High School. Between her bus routes she was the head baker for several years at the DePauw University Student Union Building. After retiring from DePauw she worked in the South Putnam High School cafeteria as a cashier until she retired from driving her school bus. She also spent several years baking and decorating all occasion cakes from her home.

Lynn enjoyed spending most of her time outdoors when possible. She also enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, working in her flower gardens and being in her pool. She had several hobbies. Some of her favorite included painting ceramics, crafts, sewing, baking and working puzzles.

Lynn was a very special woman to so many people she loved. She touched a lot of lives through the years and she will truly be missed.

The family will have a celebration of life service at the Greencastle Christian Church on Saturday, Aug. 20. The family will start receiving guests at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. She will eventually be laid to rest at the Boone Hutcheson Cemetery.
