Vernon Ray Paris

On the morning of Aug. 15, 2022, Vernon Ray Paris, 63, of Crawfordsville, passed away unexpectedly.

Vernon was born July 20, 1959 in Greencastle to the late Raymond F. and Martha Vivian (Smith) Paris.

Vernon was a 1977 graduate of North Putnam High School.

Vernon moved to Crawfordsville in 1980 and resided there for the last 42 years.

He started his career in the lighting industry before being a successful entrepreneur. He then finished his career at Stephens Farms.

Vernon enjoyed coaching and watching basketball and baseball. His most prized possession was his family. He had a warm heart, welcoming smile and a giving spirit. His quick wit and sense of humor was unmatched and will be forever missed by those left behind.

He is survived by his children, Jeremy Paris, Timothy (Ashley) Paris, Casey (Brandon) Barnett and Nichole Marchand; nine grandchildren, Lorynn, Cadance, Jaxon, Max, Preston, Caydence, Jayden, Sylis and Ryker; his longtime companion, Chris Harvey; and siblings Larry Paris, Denzel Paris, Kevin Paris and Marty (Sally) Paris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary; and three sisters, Sandra, Vera and Chris.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
