Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Beyond Homeless Executive Director Lea Durbin and Board President Alice Greenburg join Mayor Bill Dory (center) Wednesday as he declares Nov. 13-20 as National Hunger and Homelessness Week in Greencastle. The proclamation notes that just over 11 percent of Putnam County residents live in poverty, and that 114 enrolled county students were identified as homeless at the beginning of the school year. It is also noted that Beyond Homeless has provided shelter for 1,059 women and children since opening in 2014.
