"Snowy Egret" by Lynne Tweedie

Putnam County Museum will host the opening of a new exhibit, Natural Wonders, Images by Lynne Tweedie, Saturday, Nov. 26.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and a gallery chat with Ms. Tweedie will take place at 2:30.

Tweedie’s work has been shown locally and regionally, including at Art on the Square in Danville.

Many of her images appear in the Indiana Native Plant Society’s quarterly journal. In 2021, the Society awarded her a first place and an honorable mention for her submissions to its annual photo contest. She has exhibited at the Anderson Museum’s annual “In Focus” show, a statewide, juried photography exhibit. In 2022 she received an honorable mention for “Sycamore Island.”

Tweedie’s intent with her images chosen for the Putnam County Museum exhibit is to honor and celebrate wildness; to inform and surprise the viewer; to raise questions, provide respite and to strengthen the connection with the natural world that supports us all.

The Putnam County Museum is located at 1105 N. Jackson St. in Greencastle. The museum is open weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment. For more information call 653-8419.

The gift shop is open for holiday shopping and Tweedie prints will be available.
