Banner Graphic: How important are sports to you, and what have you learned from them?

Chase Carrington: “Sports are really important. I’ve grown up playing sports with Brach and Logan and it’s helped create a brotherhood with all my teammates. It’s like no other feeling that you get.”

BG: Talk about you sports.

EH: “Football and wrestling are my main sports that I try to focus on. When it comes to baseball, it’s the fun sport and you go out playing the sport you love. I try a little bit harder in football and wrestling as I want to be the best out there.”

BG: What’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you in sports?

EH: “Sectional my sophomore year, I was beating a kid and in the last 10 seconds got caught in a headlock and pinned.”

BG: What does your game day routine look like?

EH: “I wake up in the morning and mom makes me oatmeal, along with a gameday speech.”

BG: Your older brother Brach was a state finalist a couple of years ago. You’ve got a couple of matches to do it but how nice would it be to also be a state qualifier?

EH: “If I can achieve that, it’ll be like nothing else I’ve felt before. I’ve worked my whole life toward accomplishing that and it would be an amazing feeling to get there.”

BG: Do you have any favorite college/pro sports teams or athletes you follow?

EH: “I’m a Seattle Seahawks fan. I am a big Russell Wilson fan but after the trade, I didn’t want to be a bandwagon fan so I still root for the team.”

BG: What else do you do at school besides things involving sports?

EH: “I just play sports. That’s about it.”

BG: What do you like to do outside of school and sports?

EH: “ I like to fish, hunt and every now and then go work out with Trey, Brach and Logan.”

BG: What are your favorites in movies, books, TV and music?

EH: “I like country music and action movies.”

BG: Are you a person that wants to watch TV shows and movies, stream something from YouTube, Twitch, TikTok etc. or something else (gaming, reading, etc.)?

EH: “Our family does a lot of things together, so we’d get together and watch a movie, play a board game or something like that.”

BG: What is something you have never done before that you would like to do someday?

EH: “I want to ride a bull. I think that’d be pretty fun.”

BG: What is your biggest fear?

EH: “Heights. I can ride rollercoasters but if I’m standing on something tall, that’s a no-go for me.”

BG: You’ve been placed in charge of making dinner. What’s on the menu?

EH: “Chicken tenders out of the freezer probably. They’re easy to make, just put them in the oven. That’s what everybody would be getting.”

BG: Do you have any pets?

EH: “I have a dog, Jasper, and a cat which everybody just calls kitty.”

BG: If your house were on fire, all living things were already out and you have your keys, cell phone, wallet/purse etc., what is one thing you would go back and get?

EH: “Probably my nicest pair of tennis shoes. I like shoes a lot.”

BG: If you were to describe your personality in one word, what would that word be and why?

EH: “Likeable. I’m pretty easy to talk to. I’m sometimes shy but I’m approachable and can work with others.”

BG: What has been your favorite place to visit?

EH: “Cedar Point amusement park, even though I’m scared of heights. It was a cool experience.”

BG: What was your favorite school field trip?

EH: “Going to Holiday World.”

BG: How important is support from your family and classmates to your success?

EH: “It’s really important. Everybody, my parents and family, are really positive to me and push me to be where I am right now. They allow me to succeed.”

BG: Describe your overall school experience both academically and athletically.

EH: “Everything’s been really good. I try to keep my grades up. Sports are really good. We have people that really try at sports and things have gone well.”

BG: If your school was to offer a class it currently doesn’t, what would you want to see taught?

EH: “A class that deals with things like taxes and stuff I could use later on in life.”

BG: What are your plans for after high school, and what career are you headed toward?

EH: “My plans of now are to play football at Marian University and to pursue nursing. I want to be a travel nurse but not specifically what yet.”

BG: Is it difficult to keep up with your school work being an athlete?

EH: “No. My teachers this year have given us a lot of time in class to do work and having a study hall helps as well.”

BG: Which particular classes and teachers have helped you the most in high school?

EH: “My English class this year. When we turn in papers, our teacher, Mr. Wheeler, gives us a lot of good feedback and what to work on.”

BG: In the future, once you’ve established yourself, if you had your choice, would you want to live somewhere more remote, such as in the mountains or the countryside, somewhere more flashy like down on the beach or in the big city or in the neighborhood?

EH: “Out in the country. I like to have the freedom of that and to give, hopefully, my kids the opportunity to do stuff out in the woods and have the same life I have had.”

BG: Do you think high school has gone fast, and are you going to miss it?

EH: “Yes and no. I won’t miss the schoolwork or anything but going to miss the people and coaches I’ve had.”
