Barry Earl Barger
Barry Earl Barger, age 63, died unexpectedly on March 4, 2023, at his residence. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Barry is survived and missed by his loving wife, Linda (nee Corley), of 42 years; his children, Chris and Audrey (Darvell); sister Dawn; brother Rob; special friends Denna and Aldo De La Cruz; and extended family.
Barry had many health challenges in life but ignored them to live a full and enthusiastic life.
Barry led a life of service and enjoyed helping others.
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He joined at the age of 17 and was a P-3 Orion flight engineer for 10 years. He traveled the world while in the Navy.
Barry worked at Rolls-Royce as the T56 inventory manager and then as a SAP Super User.
Barry volunteered his time and energy in many capacities. He volunteered as a Putnam County reserve deputy for 20 years and was awarded the Reserve Deputy of the Year twice. He was the pack master of Cub Scout Pack 92 for many years. He was the vice president of the Floyd Township Fire Board (Floyd Township Volunteer Fire Department) and previously was the president of the board. He was a former vice president of the Heritage Lake Property Owners’ board of directors.
Barry enjoyed living at Heritage Lake, boating, playing the “World of Warships” clan games, NASCAR races, reading Tom Clancy or Clive Cussler novels, gambling at French Lick Casino and spending time with his family.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to the first responders who were there for us on the night of his passing. The family wishes a heartfelt thanks to the Floyd Township Volunteer Fire Department, the paramedics and the sheriff’s deputies for doing everything they could to revive Barry.
Private services were held on March 5, and a celebration-of-life lake party will be held at Heritage Lake in June.
Arrangements were handled by Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville.
