Dalton Smith Bell

On April 23, 2023, Dalton Smith Bell, a beloved father, son, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at the age of 29 years young.

Dalton was born in Putnam County on July 27, 1993, to Mitchell and Ericka Bell.

He attended North Putnam High School and Area 30 Career Center in the class of 2012, from which he earned his diploma and construction equipment operator certificate. He also carried a CDL.

Dalton enjoyed working construction and his time spent driving dump trucks.

His hobbies included working on anything mechanically and building Legos with his boys. He also enjoyed sitting around a campfire playing cornhole. He will always be remembered by his great sense of humor, for being well-mannered and his contagious smile.

Dalton is survived by mother Ericka (Dean Campbell) Bell and father Mitchell (Tammie) Bell; his children, Bentley and Tyson Bell; along with his three siblings, Cody (Shannon) Bell, Shelby (Brandon) Hutcheson and Marshall Bell; nieces and nephews Autumn, Devony, Lukas and Logan Bell, as well as Kinsley and Elliana Hutcheson.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Hollis Smith Shepherd.

A celebration of Dalton’s life is set for noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 at Lifebuilder Community Life Center, 701 E. Washington St., Greencastle.
