Ellen Faye Salyers

Ellen Faye Salyers, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born July 29, 1934 in Poland, she was the daughter of Arthur and Frances (Walbring) Powell. Ellen was a 1953 graduate of Patricksburg High School.

Ellen retired from Columbia Records, where she had worked in quality control. She had previously worked at Meis Department Store and First National Bank, all of Terre Haute.

She was a member of the Jordan Village Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard and Robert Powell.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Tim (wife Patricia) Salyers and Michael (wife Debra) Salyers; granddaughters Shonda Taylor and Kendra Freed; and great-grandchildren Maycee, Mikenzee, Harlee, Dane and Ryan.

Private graveside services will be held at the Poland Chapel Cemetery. Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ellen to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
