LETTER: Community Connect organizers appreciate show of support

To the Editor:

I want to express my gratitude for the many people who worked to make the third-annual Putnam County Community Connect a success.

Sponsors include CenterPoint Energy, the City of Greencastle, the Putnam County Community Foundation and Getting Ahead from Gobin Church.

I’m also grateful for partnering with Ruth Myers and Phil the Need. Karrie Poynter and Christa Stone from The Styling Station provided more than 60 free haircuts. Stacie Langdon lined up the hospitality team, and Misti Scott created publicity flyers. Putnam County Hospital donated bags. Then there were amazing volunteers at the intake tables and in the kitchen putting together the 300-plus free boxed lunches.

The goal is to have as many resources as possible in one place for one day to empower our struggling neighbors, and we were able to do that for more than 100 families thanks to all those who shared their time and skills.
