Gertner featured at upcoming Prindle ethics symposium
Journalist and bestselling author Jon Gertner will deliver the keynote address for the Midwest Ethics Symposium at the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University on Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m.
The Midwest Ethics Symposium is an annual event hosted in the spring by the Prindle Institute. It brings together academics, researchers and professionals to confront contemporary ethical issues. Each symposium is organized around a theme.
The theme of this year’s symposium relates to ethics and artificial intelligence. Participants will discuss the ethical implications of this technology and the change it can bring to business, industry, art, medicine and education.
A second address will be delivered by Nate Nichols, a 2005 DePauw alum and the current head of generative AI at Tableau, on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. In addition, more than 30 participants will present their work throughout the day and on Thursday, April 18.
The entire three-day event is free and open to the public.
The 2024 Midwest Ethics Symposium is sponsored by the Prindle Institute in collaboration with DePauw’s School of Business and Leadership, the Tenzer Technology Center and the McDermond Center for Management and Entrepreneurship.
