County Jail
The following were booked in the Putnam County Jail:
Thursday
At 12:10 a.m. Laura K. Mashburn, 39, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.
Wednesday
At 5:27 p.m. Chevon A. Ellington, 28, Brazil, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.
At 11:27 a.m. Shaun P. Perkins, 44, Brazil, was taken into custody on a local warrant.
At 9:10 a.m. Brittany W. Will, 34, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for failure to appear.
Monday
At 11:51 p.m. Larry Patterson Jr., 43, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated, driving as a habitual traffic violator and possession of paraphernalia.
At 10:15 p.m. Weilhelm H. Minartz, 42, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.
At 2:04 p.m. Theodore W. Braun, 43, Wheatfield, was housed at the jail for probation violation.
At 1:15 p.m. Christina G. Atkins, 25, Cloverdale, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
City Police
Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:
At 2:01 p.m. Tuesday, Connie L. Clark, 47, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown.
Taken into custody at a Hillsdale Avenue residence and lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Clark was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of battery.
At 12:13 a.m. Monday, Angela Carter, 50, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.
Stopped on Bloomington Street, Carter was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
She was also held on a Marion County warrant for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
One recent summons was issued by city officers:
At 5:01 a.m. Sunday, Wilfred Gomez, 28, Greencastle, was issued a summons into court on a charge of reckless driving.
Stopped by Officer Herd at Indianapolis Road and State Road 240, Gomez reportedly drove at speeds up to 74 mph in a 40-mph zone.
He was issued warnings for speeding and disregarding an automatic signal.
Two recent citations were issued by Greencastle officers:
At 9:30 p.m. April 4, Jose Rasario Ramos, 33, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Billy DeWitt.
Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Ramos was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.
At 6:59 p.m. April 4, Christina Kovats, 38, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer DeWitt.
Stopped along Veterans Memorial Highway, Kovats was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.
City Fire
The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 10 incidents between Monday morning and Thursday morning:
At 11:14 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Chinda House at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:16 and determined the alarm was due to hair care products. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:18 a.m.
At 3:14 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 831 Tennessee St. for a downed power line. Firefighters arrived at 3:20 and determined it was a communications line. GFD went back into service at 3:21 p.m.
At 5:47 p.m. on Monday, GFD received a direct call for a mulch fire at T-Mobile. Firefighters arrived at 5:49 and extinguished a small fire in a mulch bed. GFD went back into service at 5:59 p.m.
At 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Seminary Apartments at DePauw for a dumpster fire. Firefighters arrived at 2:31 and extinguished a small fire as such. The cause of the fire was undetermined. GFD went back into service at 2:47 a.m.
At 1:14 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for an elevator alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:20 and, after finding no one inside the elevator, were advised by staff that the alarm was accidental. GFD went back into service at 1:32 p.m.
At 12:37 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Simpson House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:41 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 12:47 p.m.
At 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD received a direct call for a semi fuel spill at KnitWell Group (Ascena). Firefighters arrived at 2:01 p.m. and contained the spill, after which staff were directed to contact a company to finish cleaning it up. GFD went back into service at 2:13 p.m.
At 8:04 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to Minshall House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:07 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:14 p.m.
At 8:54 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:59 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:11 p.m.
At 7:55 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:58 and determined the alarm was due to a duct detector. Maintenance was making repairs. GFD went back into service at 8:02 a.m.
Additionally, GFD responded for seven medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
