The second week of Parkfest will feature a first-time performer on the Robe-Ann bandshell stage as well as a staple of the concert series for the last several years.

JP Olsen is set to take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the second installment of the weekly concert series presented by the Greencastle Civic League and the Greenastle Parks and Recreation Department. Black Market Vinyl will follow as the main act for the two-hour show.

Food vendors at the event will include The Whisk, Lost Hollow Beer Co. and Kona Ice.

JP Olsen is a filmmaker, journalist, writer, professor and self-taught musician born and raised in Ohio. Prior to coming to DePauw to run the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media, he was a director of original programming at HBO and before that made documentary films for The New York Times and PBS.

His songs have been covered by Nashville artists Aaron Lee Tasjan and Tim Easton and performed by members of Wilco.

Black Market Vinyl is original music born of musicians who can’t keep their mitts off of Grandpappy’s record collection. Delta blues, New Orleans swing, gospel revival and some leftover teeth from last night’s bar fight combine into a fiery concoction of diabolical ear worms.

It’s a lot like Grandpappy used to say about his sour corn mash: “It’s gonna burn a little bit, but it sure do make you feel good all over.”

Season sponsors of Parkfest include Sound Sponsor Prime Real Estate, Platinum Premier Sponsor Walmart and Gold Sponsor Furr Insurance Agency.

The Parkfest lineup for the remainder of the season includes:

June 18: Justin Monts, Him&Her

June 25: Bluebird Collective, Blue Flame

July 2: Simply Bridget, Parker Black-Foo Fighters Tribute

July 9: Ryan Young, Rocky Branch

July 16: Backroad Revival, Mystery Train Band

July 23: Haley McGinnis, Bobbie Lancaster and Friends

July 30: Chris Wurster, Hauskatz
