County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 2:28 p.m. Michelle L. Lubiniecki, 33, Michigan City, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 11:01 a.m. Wendy L. Forwalt, 39, Westport, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 4:16 a.m. Brandon P. Rumley, 47, Monticello, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 9:33 p.m. John R. Sanders, 41, Coatesville, was booked in on a local warrant.

Monday

• At 8:40 p.m. Ashley N. McCartey, 28, LaPorte, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 8:05 p.m. Derek M. Brettin, 32, LaPorte, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

City Police

One man was recently arrested by Greencastle Police officers.

• At 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Mogan Ottinger, 31, address unknown, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Taken into custody at East Franklin and North Indiana streets, Ottinger was lodged at the Putnam County Jail for possession of metheamphetamine.

One individual was also issued a summons by city police.

• At 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Gary Barger, 23, Brazil, was issued a summons by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Stopped at Berry and Putnamville streets, Barger was given a summons into court for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

City Fire

Greencastle firefighters responded to the following recent dispatches.

• At 8:58 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 109 W. Hanna St. Upon investigation, they learned the alarm was due to cooking. They reset the alarm and returned to service at 9:06 p.m.

• At 3:51 p.m. on Wednesday, crews were called to an alarm at 409 S. Jackson St. They could not determine what activated the alarm. It was reset and GFD returned to service at 4 p.m.

• At 12:39 a.m. on Tuesday, firefighters investigated the smell of gas outside the residence at 500 N. Jackson St. Upon arrival, crews monitored the area and inside the residence but could not find a leak. They retuned to service at 1:20 a.m.

• At 3 p.m. on Monday, GFD was called to assist Cloverdale with a semi fire at the 41-mile marker of eastbound Interstate 70. Crews supplied water and assisted with extinguishing the fire to the semi and grass fires in the median. They returned to service at 4:14 p.m.

• At 11:53 a.m. on Monday, crews investigated a possible gas leak at 310 N. Indiana St. Monitoring the home, they were unable to find a leak, returning to service at 12:03 p.m.

GFD also responded to three medical dispatches.
