WEDNESDAY JAM: Some folks say there ain't no bears in Arkansas

If you keep up with the news on this site, you know why this song's been in my head for the last day or so.
Not really much to say about this one, except that it features some absolutely dynamite musicianship and that Lyle Lovett, as a general rule, is awesome.
There was a time in country music where his brand of cerebral weirdness was embraced. And the legacy of that brief moment is some pretty good music by folks like Lyle, Steve Earle, Mary Chapin Carpenter, k. d. lang and Dwight Yoakam, among others.
I don't see or hear that in country music these days, and it makes me sad.
Either way, Lyle is still out there, doing things his own way, like the good Texan he is.
Take 'er easy, folks, and remember they just don't come no better than a bear.
