After a five-year absence, the Area 30 Career Center will begin offering non-credit adult education classes again this year. The new classes on the roster are Beginning Computer Skills, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Intro to Culinary Arts. ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam wrestling squad were defeated by the Wildcats of South Vermillion, 53-25, at home Wednesday night. On Tuesday, the South Putnam wrestling squad faced Tri-West at home, falling 46-27. South Putnam's Seth Green pinned Jared Alexander at 125 pounds while Logan Kinney earned a 9-5 decision at 135 pounds over Jake Smith. At 145 pounds, Jon Parker decisioned Kyle Whitmore, 6-0, while Jeremiah Parrish pinned Zach Stetzel at 152 pounds. In addition, Hunter Edwards earned a decision win at 171 pounds over Nathan Joseph, 7-5, and Andy Peyton won by forfeit in the heavyweight division...

Terry Gobert didn't want to coach baseball when he broke into the coaching ranks nearly 20 years ago. "I actually wanted to be a basketball coach," Gobert said via telephone interview Wednesday, only two days before he will be inducted into the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame...
